Complete Product Development Services
HighTechCOM supports OEMs and engineering teams that want to bring new electric drive products from idea to stable series production. We combine mechanical design, embedded electronics, STM32 motor control firmware and validation in one integrated team, so you have a single responsible partner instead of many disconnected handovers.
What we do
We take products from first concept into series production with an integrated team for mechanics, embedded electronics and PCB design, STM32-based firmware and motor control, and verification and validation. You get formal gates, supplier-ready outputs and traceable decisions, rather than concepts that are lost in translation between departments.
Outcomes we aim for
- Clear specifications and an estimated bill of materials early in the process, so cost is under control.
- Fast concept iteration with design-for-manufacturing and assembly built in from day one.
- Verified performance through FEA and thermal analysis, electronics testing and firmware HIL/SIL checks.
- Smooth ramp-up from EVT to DVT, PVT and SOP with supplier-ready documentation packages.
Scope of work
1) Discovery and planning
- Voice of customer, user needs and success criteria.
- System requirements and compliance map (for example CE, EMC, protection classes, safety).
- Project plan, risk register (DFMEA / PFMEA), budget and timeline.
2) Industrial design and architecture (optional)
- Concepts, basic form and ergonomics, UX mockups where relevant.
- System architecture: mechanics, power stage, control, communication and sensors.
3) Detailed design
- Mechanical CAD and drawings with ISO/DIN GD&T, tolerance stacks and manufacturable details. For more depth see mechanical CAD design.
- Electronics: schematics, PCB layout, component selection and DFM/DFT.
- Firmware: STM32 platforms, FOC and motor control, real-time optimisation, protection and diagnostics. Related services: engineering and firmware overview, real-time optimisation, MCSDK integration.
- Analysis: structural FEA (static, nonlinear, vibration and drop) and thermal or CFD where required. For special cases we can add drop test simulation, topology optimisation and fatigue life prediction.
4) Prototyping and bring-up
- Rapid prototypes (3D printing, CNC, sheet metal) and pilot PCBs.
- Firmware bring-up, drivers, control loops and protection paths on your hardware.
- Lab tests, design iterations and readiness reviews before larger builds.
5) Verification and validation (EVT / DVT)
- Test plans, fixtures and automation; HIL/SIL setups for motor-control firmware and real-time behaviour.
- Pre-compliance preparation for EMC, safety and IP protection rating.
- Correlation between simulation and lab tests for reliability, fatigue, drop and vibration.
6) Manufacturing and launch (PVT / SOP)
- Supplier sourcing, RFQs and cost-down proposals.
- Tooling reviews, PPAP/APQP documentation and control plans.
- Pilot build support, work instructions, quality gates and ramp-up metrics.
Your deliverables
- Requirements and architecture: PRD, system block diagram and specifications.
- Design data: native CAD and STEP, PCB and Gerber data, firmware repository and drawings with GD&T.
- Analyses and evidence: FEA and CFD reports, test results and a coverage matrix that links tests to requirements.
- Manufacturing pack: costed BOM, DFM/DFT notes, control plans and work instructions for production.
- Quality and risk artefacts: DFMEA/PFMEA, traceability and change-control (ECR/ECN) documentation.
- Handover: source files, configuration baselines and a final walkthrough session.
Project governance
- Stage-gate reviews such as SRR (system requirements review), PDR, CDR and then EVT, DVT, PVT milestones.
- Weekly burn-down and KPI dashboard for schedule, cost, risk and quality.
- Version control and design history using Git or PLM, with formal change control.
- Secure file sharing, NDA by default and EU-based hosting if requested.
Technology stack
- Mechanics: SolidWorks, NX or Creo, ISO/DIN GD&T, FEA with tools such as Ansys, Abaqus or LS-DYNA.
- Electronics: Altium or KiCad, basic SI/PI checks, EMC-aware layout and design for test.
- Firmware and control: STM32, FOC, TIM/PWM–ADC–DMA timing, FreeRTOS, HAL/LL and HIL/SIL for control algorithms.
- Validation: instrumentation, data acquisition, test automation and trace / log analysis.
Industries we serve
- Consumer and industrial electronics
- Robotics and AGVs
- HVAC and fan applications
- Mobility and light electric vehicles
- Measurement and instrumentation
- Laboratory and medical devices (non-regulated or within your QMS)
Compliance note: we prepare evidence and pre-compliance work; final certification is performed with your chosen test lab or notified body.
How collaboration works
- Discovery (free, about 30 minutes) – goals, constraints and timelines.
- Scoping – fixed-scope proposal or sprint plan with milestones.
- Execution – gated deliveries, weekly updates and fast design iterations.
- Validation – tests against acceptance criteria and corrective actions.
- Launch and support – supplier handover, ramp-up support and warranty or fix window.
Pricing models
- Fixed scope with clearly defined deliverables and a fixed price.
- Sprint retainer with weekly sprints and outcome-based planning.
- Hybrid: fixed core scope plus time-and-material budget for experiments and unknowns.
What we need from you
- Background information, competitive benchmarks and key users or use cases.
- Brand and industrial-design guidelines, compliance targets and cost targets.
- Existing IP such as CAD, PCB or firmware, and preferred suppliers or processes.
- Decision-making team and review cadence.
Example packages
- Concept to EVT – requirements, architecture, concept CAD and PCB, first feasibility tests.
- DVT ready – detailed design, prototypes, verification plan and execution to DVT level.
- Launch support – tooling, PPAP/APQP documentation, pilot build and ramp-up support.
FAQ
Can you take over a running project?
Yes. We start with an audit that reviews requirements, current design
status, risks and a recovery plan.
Who owns the IP?
You do. IP and native files are transferred according to the contract
once payments are completed.
Will you work with our suppliers?
Yes. We can work with your existing vendors or bring in trusted partner
suppliers where needed.
How do you handle confidentiality?
NDA by default, controlled access, versioning and optional EU-based hosting.
Can you cover motor control and mechanics together?
Yes. This is our core strength: STM32 FOC and real-time optimisation
combined with housing and mechanical design plus validation.
